The sentence which opens this exhibition was extracted from Paul Auster’s New York Trilogy (1986). It appears in brackets in the original text, and has the paradoxical function of supporting the narrative, so far so perfectly fictional, in a supposedly traceable reality. Following the model of classic detective novels, the images in this exhibition are presented to the public as "evidences". They are linked to narratives, written in the first person, which try to account for displacements through urban space. These images, like points in straight lines, register the exact moments in which the threads of these narratives are interrupted, and then project themselves in another direction…
